Bertrand Lecointre |
There are many interesting artists everywhere, but here is one I really want to present and promote. I just love his imagination, inventivity, creativity, kindness, etc. He seems to be absolutely modest. He doesn't present himself as an artist, he doesn't seem to take interest for granted and appreciation for necessary, which seems to me quite rare. He opens his door but doesn't present his work. One isn't used to be trusted this much, to be considered as an honest, respectful and intelligent visitor. I'm afraid I might spend half a day in his tiny place. There are unachieved works everywhere, elements to use later, tools... Mr. Lecointre works on plenty projects and ideas at the same time. The diversity of the methods he masters is impressive. He studied Fine Arts in Rennes (french Britanny), and can do so much with so little, without adopting and defending the various theories on minimal art, arte povera, supports surfaces or else, that people get suspicious. Artists are supposed to work much more on their self-made-character and on their theories. They are not supposed to be handy, but to have a staff. Well. Mr. Lecointre's work is marvellous, and I am ready to interview him and photography all I can...
As for you, you can see some of his works at the shop Mica, 36 rue Saint-Guilhem, 04 67 66 21 08... A passionnating shop, go and see. You can also see Mr Lecointre presently at Zoïd (exhibition "le fil"), at the Cabane trempée every Spring, often also during the Parcours d'ateliers d'artistes organized by the Briscarts... Most of the pictures of this page come from the pages of La Cabane trempée and the Briscarts. Thanks to them.
